Dear Aledo HS Graduating Senior: We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for applying for the Aledo Children’s AdvoCats Community Service Scholarship. The Aledo Children’s AdvoCats is a civic, philanthropic group organized to fulfill and aid unmet needs of children and their families in the Aledo area. This year the Aledo Children’s AdvoCats will award three $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors from Aledo High School to assist them in their pursuit of higher education. This is not a need-based scholarship, but rather is based upon a review of demonstrated community service and the completed application packet. The following are the eligibility guidelines: • Demonstrated community service during your high school years; • Maintained a “B” average or better GPA as verified by the Guidance Counselor’s Office; • Attending college, university or technical school full time (12 hours per semester) beginning with the Fall 2008 semester; and • Completed application , 3 letters of recommendation and an essay should be placed in a 9X12 envelope. Sealed envelopes must be turned in to Mrs. Bena Glasscock in the Counselor’s Office by 4:00 pm on Friday, April 25th. Please see the following attachments: 1. Essay Topic and Instructions 2.
